AudioShake, an award-winning sound separation and lyric transcription AI company, has announced a partnership with AIMS, a market leader in AI-powered music search and discovery. The intersection of their technologies solves a long-standing issue in the music industry: the lack of an accurate, intuitive lyric-based search for vast music catalogs.

Most commercial music searches involve lyrics, yet many catalogs don’t have lyrics for all or some of their tracks — let alone an advanced solution that searches these lyrics.

In the fast-moving world of sync licensing, tracks that may be the perfect match can get left behind because the label or publishing staff can’t possibly recall every recording in their catalog that corresponds to “songs about a rainy day” or “soul from the 70s with lyrics that celebrate life.” With this launch, every track has a fair chance of being discovered.

By first leveraging AudioShake for the market’s most accurate automated lyric transcription, catalogs can then utilize the AIMS-developed Lyrics Search to explore music based on the context and meaning of those lyrics. The breakthrough AI model doesn’t search solely based on words; it has a profound understanding of the lyrical themes and sentiment those words express, which allows it to find music that’s about something.
