ABOUT THE ROLE

As the first Product Manager at AudioShake, you will help shape our product vision and roadmap, while leveraging customer feedback and market input to drive company success. At AudioShake, building cutting-edge research models that have real-world, practical benefits is a top priority, so you’ll leverage customer feedback and market insights to ensure we’re delivering customer value and opening up audio for new use cases. 

You’ll collaborate with design, engineering, and research teams to build the right product, and work with our sales and marketing teams to get our products into the hands of our customers. You’ll work closely with our CEO and CTO on overall product direction and deployment, actively research the market, and engage with our customers, who range from start-up developers through to large Enterprises. 

We’re looking for a Product Manager who is highly flexible, technically-minded, and enthusiastic about moving in a fast-paced environment full of exciting unknowns and opportunities.. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Serve as a founding member of the product function at AudioShake
  • Talk regularly with customers and our sales team, dig into market data, and help the wider organization understand our customers as well
  • Working closely with the CEO, help set the direction of AudioShake’s products
  • Own the product roadmap and strategy, and continuously identity and prioritize opportunities for growth and improvement 
  • Identify new product opportunities, and lead the scoping, prioritization, and delivery of new products and features.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to ensure technical feasibility and timely delivery of new products. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
  • Measure, analyze and report to the organization on the success of our products
  • Be an advocate for the user and use data and analytics to drive decisions and improvements 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years as a Product Manager, with a track record of launching successful products 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset–you should have an ability to think creatively about how to tackle challenges
  • You don’t need to be an engineer, but you do need to understand basic technical language and concepts, and feel at ease working with deeply technical teams and complex systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and execute multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Knowledge and experience of user research methodologies and comfortable in front of customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely 
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and the different goals and mindsets of different internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset: We care about getting the job done, not about reporting lines, territories, and egos.

JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Improving our current backend and infrastructure code built with NodeJS/Typescript and Python languagessome text
    • Utilize the AWS CDK to update and maintain our cloud infrastructure
    • Assist with efforts to deploy new infrastructure for new services
    • Dynamically create and maintain our systems architectures in AWS via code using AWS libraries (Python and Javascript)
    • Assist with brainstorming, writing documentation, and creating diagrams for our new architectural changes
    • Help to maintain and improve the security and reliability of our services and ensure good engineering practices in compliance with our security policies
  • Working with research team to deploy and optimize new ML models and architecturessome text
    • Update our python logic to improve our processing performance
    • Improve our processing pipeline to improve speed and reliability
  • Load testingsome text
    • Conduct a regular load testing strategy
    • Maintain and improve Artillery JS scripts or other load testing scripts

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience:  Senior level experience with backend cloud services and dev ops.  Someone with a keen understanding of how to identify performance bottlenecks and ways to fix and optimize them. Also, someone who knows clean code principles and test-driven development.
  • Languages: NodeJS, Javascript, Typescript, Python
  • Architectures:  AWS EKS/ECS, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, RDS, Elasticache, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Github Actions, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Libraries: AWS CDK, ExpressJS, FastifyJS, FFMpeg, Prisma JS, React, NextJS, (a plus if has experience with Ruby on Rails and Stripe libraries)
  • Services:  Github Actions, AWS Cloudwatch/Cloudtrail, AWS CLI, DataDog
